The voice belongs to Computer Prime, the controlling unit of the Nova Prime starship. Computer Prime projects a holographic image of the events following Zorr's teleportation to the space vessel. The computer reveals that the previous Nova Prime, Rhomann Dey, had channeled Computer Prime's power through his dying form and destroyed Zorr. Computer Prime also reveals that the brain patterns of all previous Nova Primes are stored in his bio-circuits. Along with information on Rhomann Dey, Nova is given the location of the Terrible Trio. The three villains have begun their invasion of the Sphinx's fortress.
Nova asks Computer Prime about his friend, Roger "Caps" Cooper. The computer reveals that Roger is in deadly danger in the city's sewer system. He has been tied to a pipe and the water is rising fast. Computer Prime returns the ship to Earth orbit and Nova takes one of the shuttlecrafts to Earth. Nova rescues Caps just in time! After dropping Roger off at his house, Nova changes back to Rich Rider and waits for him inside the house.
After their friend, Bernie Dillon, arrives, Roger tells them about the man who tried to kill him. The man is Roger's uncle, Nathan. Six months ago, Roger and Nathan were on a camping trip when they came across a mysterious cave. Inside, they discovered a glowing black lake. Leaning closer to investigate, Roger accidentally tripped Nathan into the lake. Roger ran for help but, when he returned, Nathan was gone.
When Nathan came back to kill Roger, he told his nephew what had happened to him. His burning body had fallen through the darkness and he landed 1,000,000 years in the future. The sole surviving being of that time greeted him. The futuristic being informs him that she's been alone on the planet for 100,000 years. She also reveals that her race had once been human but had long evolved into pure atomic structures. Unfamiliar with the human form, the entity fixed Nathan's body but was unable to create facial features. In order to protect himself, Nathan was given the power to control the environment around him. Nathan used his powers to escape the entity who had fallen in love with him.
After Roger finishes his story, Bernie takes him home to rest. The next morning, Rich is awakened by a frightened Roger! He is being chased by his uncle, who now goes by the name Megaman! Rich's father tries to stop him but fails. Rich is able to get away and become Nova. Megaman and Nova exchange blows until the faceless villain blasts the Rider's house. Nova is faced with a choice; save his family or stop Megaman and save Roger.
