Title: "War In Space!"

Due to the Condor's brainwashing, Nova now claims leadership of the group of villains! Diamondhead doesn't agree and the two exchange punches. The Condor intervenes and tells them they are unified to defeat the Dreaded One, the Sphinx.

The Condor tells the group about the origin of the Sphinx. 5,000 years ago, the pharaoh Ramses was approached by Moses who asked for the freedom of the Israeli people. Ramses summoned his wizards to battle Moses and was stunned to see them defeated. The chief wizard, Anath-Na Mut, was exiled from Egypt by the pharaoh to walk the desert forever. After ninety years, the wizard stumbled upon the temple of the Ka Stone. The stone directed him to place it on his head. Upon doing so, the wizard was no longer just a man, but now he was the immortal Sphinx!

The Condor's tale is being monitored by the Sphinx himself in his fortress. After easily disintegrating a rebellious slave, the Sphinx discusses the future with his prophet, Sayge. Sayge reminds the possessor of the Ka Stone that he cannot change the future and that is what he fears.

Back in New York, the Condor and Nova break into an Air-Force warehouse to steal a spacecraft part. Condor needs the part to finish his own spacecraft for a special mission. The mission is to reach Nova Prime's spaceship in Earth orbit and find any weapons to use against the Sphinx. After successfully taking the part, they return to the Condor's Roost. Nova's reprogramming begins to wear off and Powerhouse is ordered to drain him unconscious. Later, Powerhouse begins to wonder if the Condor controls him the same way he does the Human Rocket.

Several hours later, the four rendezvous with the invisible Nova Prime ship. Nova's helmet lenses allow him to see all light waves including the cloaked spacecraft in Earth orbit. After breathing an oxygen spray, the four advance over to the ship. Nova's helmet fires a green beam that allows them to enter the giant ship. During their journey through the ship, they come across the remains of Zorr, monster who killed the original Nova Prime, Rhomann Dey. Their exploits are still being monitored by the Sphinx who decides to prepare for the upcoming war with the Condor. After he leaves, his slave Kur begins to plot against his master.

Meanwhile, the Sphinx uses the Ka Stone to take control of the Nova Prime ship. He sends six robot sentries to stop Nova and the Terrible Trio. The robots are no match for the four and quickly dismantled. The Sphinx activates the ship's internal lasers in an attempt to destroy them. Powerhouse absorbs the energy and discharges it at the Weapons Room's door. While searching for weapons, Powerhouse begins to realize that they look familiar. At the same time, Nova's reprogramming wears off and he is once again himself!

As Nova battles the Condor, the winged villain orders Powerhouse to drain Nova. Powerhouse refuses to obey but Diamondhead knocks Nova out from behind. The four escape with a load of weapons and leave Nova aboard his ship. However, the Condor has activated the ship's warp engines and has sent Nova to the reaches of deep space!
