Later at Marvel Burger, Rich and his friend, Bernie Dillon, discuss Namorita's recent attitude towards Rich and affair with Bernie. Rich and Bernie's roommate, Roger "Caps" Cooper, comes in to remind Rich that he is due to tryout for the college baseball team.
Meanwhile, in Egypt, an explorer has discovered the tomb of Anath-Na Mut, the wizard who became the Sphinx! The man is determined to gain the power once held by the Sphinx through the Ka Stone. However, after opening the tomb, the scepter holding the Ka Stone begins to crackle with energy! The Ka Stone Scepter drains the life force from the grave robber and channels it into the mummified remains of the Sphinx. The man who wanted to steal the Sphinx's power has been turned to dust and the Sphinx now lives again!
Back at the baseball tryouts, Rich is reluctant to be on the team. He changes his mind when he notices Jennifer Smith sitting nearby. Rich then proceeds to hit the next ten pitches out of the park! Unfortunately, Jennifer was too busy to notice. Afterwards, Rich and Roger debate the ethics of using the Nova powers to play baseball. Later that afternoon, Nova visits Ginger Jaye at her home. Ginger asks him to come back later after her parents have left. The Human Rocket leaves to answer an emergency he has received on his helmet.
The emergency turns out to be a bank robbery being committed by Captain America's greatest foe, the Red Skull! Nova flies in and levels the Skull with a powerful punch! The two trade blows until Nova has another power surge and literally knocks the Skull's head off! The Red Skull turns out to be a robot and not the real villain! As Nova returns the stolen money to the police, his helmet receives news of another robbery in progress! This time, the crime is being committed by the Incredible Hulk! The Human Rocket rushes in and quickly figures out that it is another robot. After destroying the "Hulk", Nova flies to another robbery by the armored hero, Iron Man! He quickly destroys the Iron Man robot to find another bank being robbed by...The Quintronic Man! The Quintronic Man and Nova battle fiercely in the streets of New York. The battle ends when Nova dismantles the robot from the inside out!
After the battle, Nova's fellow heroes, The Fantastic Four and Thor, join him to discuss the robot crimes. The Fantastic Four's leader, Mr. Fantastic, offers to help Nova with his power instability problem. Their discussion is being watched by two separate figures. One is a small robot and the other is Nova's enemy, the Condor!
