Series #2 - NOVA #9 Cover Date: September 1994 Writer/Artist: Chris Marrinan Inker: Mark Stegbauer Cover Artists: Marrinan & Stegbauer Letterers: Starkings/Comicraft Colorist: Tom Smith Editor: Rob Tokar Cover Title: "At War With Warhead!" Story Title: "Enter: Chaos Part Two!" |

However, before they can destroy their foe, Shatterforce finds their own spincraft vehicle coming for them! Nova's friends, Bernie Dillon and Roger "Caps" Cooper, had found the craft and decided to use it to save their friend. The third member of Shatterforce, Strangler, is barely hanging on the outside of the vehicle!
The distraction is enough for Nova to regain consciousness and knock the villains off their feet. As they battle, Nova discovers Shatterforce is hunting him due to his involvement with the earlier satellite hijacking attempt. Meanwhile, Bernie and Roger are doing their best to shake Strangler from the spincraft. Their efforts aren't enough to prevent the villain from ripping his way into the craft.
Knowing he has to rescue his friends quickly, Nova unleashes a powerful optic blast at Murder and Warhead! They are both knocked unconscious. The Human Rocket speeds up to the spincraft and tosses Strangler towards the ground. Nova takes the controls and stabilizes the spincraft. Suddenly, Warhead blasts his way into the ship! He is glowing red-hot with nuclear energy and determined to kill Nova! The two fiercely exchange punches as the spincraft spins out of control. A stray blast from Warhead's boot destroys the craft's controls and the ship begins to break up! Nova angrily blasts Warhead with an optic blast which turns his foe back to normal.
As they head towards a crash landing, Warhead accuses Nova of killing his brother and he must have revenge. The Human Rocket denies any knowledge of the villain's family and that he's killed anyone. Before he can learn anything else from Warhead, Nova is forced to grab his friends and rush them to safety.
Meanwhile, a shadowy man wearing an eyepatch is talking on the phone with the President of the United States. The man informs the President that he is putting a team together to question Nova regarding the satellite incident.
Back in Alphabet City, Rich Rider and his friends return to their apartment. Roger tosses Rich a shaken beer which sprays wildly when he opens it!
Elsewhere, a janitor stops a well-dressed man as he leaves his office. The janitor tells Mr. Benchley to stop working so hard on an investigation. Before he can even move, Mr. Benchley is murdered by a single punch. The janitor leaves stating he has other jobs to finish.
Back at a secret installation, a meeting is being held by three individuals. Their conversation indicates they are responsible for the Shatterforce, the satellite incident and the death of Mr. Benchley. The meeting consists of a woman named Thera, a man called Maxov and led by an individual known as the Planner. Maxov gives an update on his latest project called Ram's Head. Project Ram's Head is dedicated to the domination of the Solar System and all future space travel. He indicates the project is proceeding smoothly due to help from their "visitors" and should be operational in six months.
The Planner is pleased with the news but wants no more interference from Earth's super-heroes. To meet his goal, he orders the capture and termination of Nova!
