The alternate Nova is helping Rich learn to use his powers to open an interdimensional Star Gate in order to return to his own universe. Nova must return to his own universe to stop the threat of Deathstorm, a cosmic storm which can destroy an entire planet in minutes!
Alternate Nova reminds his counterpart that the key to using the full range of his powers is to let his body and cybernetic helmet work in unison. Rich asks the alternate Nova why he still uses the original Nova uniform instead of shaping a new one. Alternate Nova reshapes his suit but returns it to normal. He tells Rich that even though he can change it, he prefers to keep his uniform simple.
The two discuss the burden of their powers and the responsibilities they must meet. Rich confides to the alternate Nova that he's sometimes scared of being a failure despite having great powers.
The alternate Nova instructs his counterpart to combine certain aspects of his powers to open the Star Gate. Nova must use the suit's Tesseract Release, Systems-Adapt Mode, Flight Navigation Sensors and the Gravimetric Pulse together. Doing so will allow Nova to tap the full power of the Nova Force. Rich thanks alternate Nova and invites him to come to his Earth since his Earth has been decimated. He declines the offer and tells Rich he still has a lot to accomplish on his Earth and his galaxy. After saying their goodbyes, Nova begins to build up speed to open the Star Gate.
Faster and faster he goes. After reaching sub-light speed, Nova's eyes begin to glow with immeasurable power! Suddenly, the Star Gate bursts open to take Nova to whatever destination he wants. Rich tells it to take him home and he disappears in a burst of light!
The remaining pages of this issue are stories about Rage and Firestar.
