Title: "All That Was & Never Will Be"

In order to conquer the Earth and regain his Ka powers, the Sphinx has transported Nova to a parallel universe. On this alternate Earth, Rich finds the planet a decimated wasteland with very few survivors. The people who have survived ask Nova for his help and wonder why he didn't save them.

Overwhelmed by the crowd, Nova flies off to figure out his situation. As he ponders his predicament, he is met by the alternate universe's Nova! The two Novas discuss the recent events on Earth aboard the Nova Prime Starship. Rich discovers that the alternate Nova had never given up his powers after the Xandar/Skrull War and had become the leader of the NovaCorp. While on a space mission for Queen Adora and the Shi'ar Empire, a cosmic storm called Deathstorm came to Earth. Alternate Nova reveals that all of Earth's heroes, even his fellow Avengers, couldn't stop the destruction. When he returned to Earth, alternate Nova found the planet in ruins and 90% of the population dead.

Rich asks about the fate of the New Warriors. He quickly discovers that since he never gave up his powers on the alternate Earth, the New Warriors wouldn't have been formed. Alternate Nova shows Rich the playback sequence of Deathstorm's arrival. The video shows a black mass engulf the Earth along with a numeric countdown sequence. The sequence ends when the Earth is destroyed. The number of the sequence reads 0:0!

Rich quickly figures out the sequence means more than the end of a video feed. He realizes the menace another alternate Nova, Nova 0:0 was trying to warn him about is one and the same; Deathstorm!

Rich vows to stop his universe's Deathstorm from destroying his Earth. He asks alternate Nova for his help in using his powers to their fullest and find a way home.

The remaining pages of this issue are stories about Rage and Firestar.
