However, Warhead is informed by the Planner that he is no longer on the Nova mission. Due to repeated failures of Shatterforce, the Aakon (the Shadow Consortium's benefactors) have decided to take matters into their own hands. Warhead disagrees but finds himself blasted by the Aakon and left barely alive.
Meanwhile, over the Appalachian Mountains, Nova and the New Warriors are searching for the Shadow Consortium's headquarters. Based on the radio signals being picked up by Nova's helmet, they are closing in on their goal. Suddenly, Nova is telepathically contacted by Queen Adora of Xandar!
Adora orders Nova to report to Xandar immediately to handle an emergency. The young hero refuses and explains that he is needed on Earth to fight the Deathstorm. Adora's mental image disappears telling Nova that he will return one way or another!
Afterwards, Nova realized that his teammates could not see Adora's message. They believe their friend is delusional due to stress and ask him to relax. Nova grabs Justice and slams him against the wall. The Human Rocket tells the young mutant that he will not let his planet be destroyed by Deathstorm. Justice gives Nova a mind blast in order to help his friend calm down. At that moment, the young team receives a message from Nova 0:0, a mysterious Nova from an alternate universe.
Realizing that Nova 0:0 is confirming the location of the Consortium's headquarters, Nova and Kymaera leap from the Warriors' helicopter towards an old factory. Suddenly, the factory's roof opens and an army of armed soldiers emerge to stop the two heroes! The Consortium has also launched missiles at the Warriors' helicopter! Firestar and Justice quickly knock out the incoming threat while Speedball, Darkhawk and Turbo engage their foes.
Nova, Kymaera and Darkhawk take the offensive and blast their way into the Consortium's main building! They are quickly met by Shatterforce and an incredible battle begins! As Nova battles Warhead, Kymaera is given a full intensity blast from Murder. The sight of his former girlfriend being injured causes Nova to lose control of his anger and he shatters Warhead's jaw with a single punch! Nova continues to smash his way through Shatterforce as Darkhawk knocks out Murder.
Inside the Shadow Consortium, Thera is busy destroying files when her fellow leader, Maxoff, arrives. Completely insane from seeing her plans falling apart, Thera kills Maxoff with a single gunshot. Thera hides the body just before the Planner and the Aakon's leader, Daakor, arrive. Daakon tells everyone to evacuate and he will provide a distraction to keep the New Warriors busy. Suddenly, the Consortium's headquarters explodes! Within the explosion, an Aakon escape-pod rockets towards space with the Shadow Consortium and Daakor inside.
Back inside the exploding building, Nova and Darkhawk check on Kymaera and find her alive! Darkhawk and Kymaera rejoin the remaining New Warriors as Nova continues to look for survivors.
Inside, Nova finds the body of Maxoff. Incredibly, he is still alive and is able to warn the Human Rocket of an immediate danger. The Aakon have a bomb aboard a space station called Ram's Head. The Aakon bomb will create a deadly storm which will destroy everything on Earth.
Inside the Aakon escape-pod, Daakon explains that their original plan to eliminate super-beings has changed. The Aakon now intend to destroy all life in order to protect their empire. The members of the Consortium can only sit helplessly as the escape-pod reaches Ram's Head in orbit around the planet Mars.
Back at the home of Rich Rider's parents, Robert Rider continues his research on Deathstorm. Rich's younger brother realizes that his solution to stopping Deathstorm should work but the risks are tremendous. Suddenly, two Aakon soldiers crash through the window! With Robert as their hostage, the Aakon are convinced Nova will surrender to them!
